Another bloody monday and a weekend that flew by all too quick.
It was a good'un though!

Saturday was pretty rad, nice slow wakeup with Leesy, Went to newtown and spent the afternoon wandering around, bought some $2 Cds at Repressed and a sex board game, which after a quick attempt isn't all that great. It's alot more fun to just get into it rather than ask/answer silly questions, maybe we'll come back to it.
Just nice afternoon hanging with my bub then we headed home, I got ready and went to the city for OVERKILL.

I can't write a review or recount a whole lot though haha I was having too much fun.
All the TSMM were out and about, Haven't seen those dudes in a while.. All the cool bands (tornis, Hellbringer, rampage, the maddoggz etc) hanging out in they alleyway wearing our patch jackets drinking goon and just being thrashkuntz.

Missed Mortal Sin becuase we wanted to drink longer, but Overkill was rad. I don't kreally know any songs but I still had a blast jumping around, thrashing like maniax.
But it was a shitload of fun!
Then we migrated to Stratton Bar afterwards for some bday drinks for Matt. I didn't stay long I don't think.. Was feeling pretty done by this point, then had a shitty time trying to get home after just missing the last train home but it was all sorted in the end.

Surprised I didn't wake up with hangover (I partially did but it passed), no bruises and sore bodyparts which allowed me to not spend my Sunday dying. Instead Leesy came round, we washed her car together, hit up the shops to get some ingredients for Satay stirfry noodles and came home to cook up a feast and watched Harry Brown. That was a pretty cool movie. Quiet, slow and grim, but I love old man vigilantes fucking up scum. Better than Gran Torino, and gave a pretty fucked up insight into some of Englands shitholes with drugs, violence and crackdens. Leesy didn't like it though :P

And now it's back to monday with a weeks worth of work, but I'll manage with some cool shit on the horizon to look forward to.
Next week - Exodus! :D

p.s this weather is fuckin' gr8.
Summers on it's way! While I'm at work Lee is at the beach. Damn you Leedogg.

Eat a dick, Cityrail

Man I'm getting the shits with Cityrail.
For a while there their service was good, trains came on time and there were not many delays.

Lately though...
The other day my train came 2 minutes early. I missed it, and was late for work.
Sometimes they'll cancel the my usual train home too for no given reason.

But today, my 5.48am train was delayed indefinitely. The screen was saying it was 8 minutes away... 12 minutes...23 minutes...
They couldn't give us a time of when the next fucking train was coming so I got the Granville train and was 15 minutes late.

I have no problems getting myself to work on time, but it's cityrail that causes me to be late and fucks me around, thus causing me to fail my KPI for attendance and not getting my monthly/qtrly bonus.
I think I'm just going to give up trying to get that bonus. I tried really hard last month and somehow, sometime, I was late on 3 occasions.

Why bother if cityrail is just going to fuck it up for me and spoil my chances.

A shitty start to Friday, and I'm tired as hell.
back to sleeping at my desk.

Office Politics - Real Power vs V

The real powers were the first in the race to reach the top of a tower. ~86 of those badboys stacked.

The V's on the other hand, who have a bigger team of V drinkers didn't complete the tower first but there's about 95+ there now.

An impressive feat. :D

We'll play so fast, our necks will break.

Having just bailed on Marko and his thrash band (and a lineup as reliable as god answering your prayers)

I'm finally about to start my own thing. Well, somewhat my own thing. My musical direction I guess, with Leedogg by my side. It was on our minds for a year or two and never got our arses organised so nothing came from it except a jam or two with just us, but we've got Adam from U.S.V on vokillz, he's got the experience and attitude of a speed metal maniac punk and he'll be bringing us a bassist and just like that, we've got us a line up.

Before Adam came along, my band was going for Gutterdeath as the name. Adam has come up with Disintegrator. We'll decide on something once we get into the groove of things.

What sort of sweet tunes will we be busting out?
Not sure yet, I've written some rough demos and heaps of ideas. In my mind I imagine the songs to be fast az hell, thrash and hardcore inspired. Shit to get rowdy to pretty much.
I can't really speak for the others, but my riffage in this case is mostly influenced by Massappeal, Cut Sick, Excel, ST, Cryptic Slaughter etc etc.

Fast fast fast is the keyword here. I'm also trying to capture the essence of the Summer of MaddoggZ, alot like ST, Excel and a bunch of 80s LA punk bands have done, intentionally or not, their music makes me want to skate to a beach and kick it in my sweet shorts.
That sort of scene is something I want to try and replicate while we're at it. If there aren't dudes and sheilaz jumping around and going nuts with us when we play, I'll be quite the dissapointed little thrasher. Playing in the crowd is something I want to do to.

Adam gave me a bunch of music which are his influences, most of it sucks (lol) but I've gotten into some sweet stuff, namely Dayglo Abortions.

Adams written some lyrics which are sounding pretty sickk. Keeping in tune with "If you're serious you lose", the songs won't be written for serious topics.
Partying, having fun, smashing cones of radioactive weed and turning into zombies and that sorta shit. I can't really write lyrics without sounding like Dr Seuss but I may give it ago, I have some old scrappy bits of paper with ideas I've written down over the years.

Using my Industry skillz and knowledge, putting on gigs should be easy, I want to do it all DIY, hand draw my flyers like I have in the past - time and creativity permitting.
Adam knows a bunch of dudes in Melb/Syd/Bris from touring with U.S.V so his contacts will help out for sure.

Shannon, the bassist from Inebriator (melb) is also starting a crossover band and we're keen to do a split EP once we've got some shit recorded, though thats a few steps ahead. At least it's an achievable goal to aim for in the short term , 4 - 6months.

I'm pretty fuckin excited for this. At last I've got interested musicians, a passion, a car and money for getting to rehearsals and shit, though I think I'll be relying on public transport a fair bit so I can get my 5 seeds on. We should be having our first jam in a week or two and seeing what we come up with.

Anyway my long as shit shift is coming to an end, I'm outta here to go write some riffz.

fuck yaz all!!

A fresh start

Hello blog world.
It's 7.32am on a monday morning and I'm sitting here in the office dreading another week of work.

But I'm wanting to be more productive with my downtime(And I've had too much coffee to be able to sleep at my desk), So here is a blog.
Just gonna keep it real, post ideas and thoughts and shit.
This would mostly just be for my own future reference when my memory has gone to shit. I've had many great tales, but not documented them as I figured I'd just remember the details, but that's never the case so here is my effort.

Metallica @ Acer 18th Sept.

The band that got me into metal many moons ago, the band that inspired the way I look and dress like I do now, the band that lead me to picking up my first guitar and the band that initially changed my life for the greater good.
It's been a couple of years since I've voluntarily listened to Metallica. I used to play their albums on a daily basis on repeat. Back in High school, I was obsessed.

I eventually opened my eyes to other lesser known music and evolved as a metalhead to the point where Metallica albums were becoming a bit repetitive and couldn't hold my attention as well as other lesser known bands and sub genres as I started listening to less mainstream, more talented bands (Not saying Metallica weren't talented)
But In saying that, I was pretty excited to see them and it was a pretty solid gig.

When tickets went on sale I asked Squidy to grab me a presale ticket when he got his. He bought Gold standing for himself and his lady, but for whatever reason he got me a single gold seating ticket. Like fuck I was going to sit/stand by myself when I knew my pals and lovely lady would be down in the pit. But at the last minute Squidy helped me acquire a decent ticket for the first show and away I went.

Some thoughts, recollections and a couple of photos I took.

- Great stage, the band members were walking around the stage in the middle so I could cop a half decent view of each of them. Great light show and cool pyrotechnics

- Pathetic crowd. These days metallica appeal to pretty much everyone, including Dbags covered in trendy shirts and tribal tats, and just general lame cunts. Noone was moving in the crowd. The majority stood there with their arms crossed. Everyone was sitting (apart from marko and Lee who received and gave out some shit for standing, ha!) But yes, no movement, until fuckin' enter sandman came on, then everyone got into it, Apart from myself. Then it went dead again once
they played their older stuff. Leesy and I had a rad time headbanging and air guitaring throughout the set, my neck got a solid workout. Some dumbslut im heels was giving Leesy some trouble by grabbing her hair as she was headbanging and telling her to stop. Lee called a woman a mangy cunt and had biers thrown him for standing up. At a Metallica concert....

Fer fucks sake, we were in the mosh section of a goddamn Metallica concert. I was sorta hoping someone would tell me off as I just wanted to give those boring lame cunts a peice of my mind. If you don't want to move, just buy a seating ticket, thus freeing up mosh tickets for Lee and Marko to come have a good time.

- Good choice of songs for the most part. Bunch of rad oldies I didn't expect - Ride the lightning, Fight fire with fiyah, hit the lights. The Death Magnetic songs were boring az hell.

- Overall the gig was pretty mad, there was no atmosphere or great vibes generated by the crowd like Maiden had going, but I'm glad I went and can now cross them off my list of things to do before I die.

Next weekend, Overkill :D
Thrashing speed metal maniaxx dunununun
